We Are Laser-Focused on one thing, Improving Shippers Bottom-line.

Unlike every other company in this space, Rooted Logistic Services revenue is 100% derived from impacting the shipper’s bottom line. This policy makes us laser-focused on solutions and services that positively impact our customer’s bottom line.

Second Harvest Parcel Audit & Recovery

Auditing major carrier bills for recovery your primary audit partner missed. Depending on the customer shipping profile, there is .75 % to 2.5 % or more recovery to be harvested.

While we take a detailed look into every element of the parcel carriers' bills.

We find a great deal of yield in misbilled Residential/ Commercial Classification, Address Corrections, Guaranteed Service Refunds, fraudulently billed packages, and other fees/accessorial other audits do not even investigate.

Dimensional auditing, in which we audit carrier dimensions vs. customer data/ shipping data. The recovery in this area can be significant with accessorial charges such as Additional Handling, Large Package & Over Max. Beyond the initial cost, these surcharges apply to your carrier's Fuel Surcharge. With a proper process, you can challenge the dimensions of any of the major carriers.

Going further than others, we listen to our customers and address any areas they feel are getting erroneous charges.

Damage & Lost Recovery for Parcel & LTL

Damage claims are a significant loss area; and often are an area overlooked by most shippers. These shipments traditionally make up between .9% to 2% of all shipments. Carriers have always been reluctant to bring damage, lost or short shipments to light. The reason is that damage and loss are a core matrix for carrier operational bonuses.

Shippers generally identify or are only notified of 64% of all eligible claims by parcel carriers, and studies suggest LTL percentages are far worse. Even once the damage or lost shipment is identified, most shippers have no idea how much their profitability is dragged down by damaged and lost shipments.

We have created a process that identifies far more damaged and lost packages than the carriers report. Our approach ensures that each claim is submitted correctly with all the required documentation.

Lastly, our internal knowledge ensures the carrier’s denial strategy does not strip you of your rightful recovery. The best part is that the shipper’s involvement is nearly nonexistent after the initial setup.

Every 1% of Damage or Lost Shipments equates to 2.5% - 3.5% of logistic budget

Uncover Optimization Opportunities

We first study your shipper profile we then look for optimization within your current carrier network. Are you properly utilizing all of the service levels available to you from a cost & customer experience perspective? The great thing about this step is that a better solution is often available within your current carrier network.

Many service levels are unknown to the shipper as they are contract-only services. Even still, sometimes, the carriers offer these services but do not discount them appropriately. They urge the shipper to use higher-cost products to drive additional revenue for the carrier.

We have found that another area of optimization is in leveraging the proper service and carrier for shipments between 200lbs and 500lbs. These shipments are usually LTL shipments for most shippers; however, other options are more cost-effective and can also enhance the customer experience.

We also will provide advice on services and solutions outside of your current network always keeping in mind your customers' experience, your expectations of logistics executions, execution technology available to you, and cost.

There are hundreds of opportunities; the key is a deep dive into your shipping profile, your data, your systems, and your desires to present options to you for your approval.

Contract Auditing Services: Our extensive experience includes many years of contract management from different viewpoints including as carrier negotiator, shipper, negotiation consultant, & auditor. We have found 3.4% of all contracts the billing does not match the contract signed.  The more complex the contract the higher probability of a mistake. We have seen one simple element costing shippers millions of dollars over a contract life.

Are you certain you are getting the pricing you agreed to?  We can give you that peace of mind!

Vendor Management Program Support, Audit & Recovery: Supply Chain delays have been at an all-time high, all while retailers and distributors are under increasing pressure to keep stock don't the shelves. Leading to new more strict vendor delivery requirements and high fines. The fines range from 1% to 5% of the supplier's invoice.  Many companies have accepted these fines as a cost of doing business. We have found that over one-third of these fines are erroneous. We have also found many companies wish they had a Vendor Management program but don't have the resources to do so.

We dig deep to understand the agreed-upon terms and build a custom program to audit,  fine, and/or recover. your vendors place upon you ion is available within your current carrier network.
